Why You Should Seek Help From a Specialist Immediately After a Car Accident
Victims that have been hurt in a car accident often don’t get the proper treatment they deserve. Since a crash can heighten the levels of adrenaline and endorphins, pain may not be felt immediately after, but can come on after the chemicals have subsided. This defers some people from seeking treatment immediately following a car accident. And of the people that do seek treatment, many find the initial medical treatment consists of medications done by an urgent care facility not equipped to deal with the underlying physical injury.
It’s important to seek help from a specialist that focuses on auto injuries. You want to be dealing with a clinic that is specifically equipped to know what to look for and how to properly treat auto injury cases. Also, dealing with your auto injury claim can be frustrating, especially while you’re in pain. This is why working with a qualified clinic that specializes in motor vehicle collisions is the best way for you to get the appropriate treatment and injury care you need.

What to Expect During Your Visit
When you visit us for the first time, you will be asked to fill out a patient form so we can learn more about you. This is a routine information request just like any healthcare facility would ask for. We ask that you provide us information as accurate as you can so we can get a solid understanding of your auto accident and the current condition you are in.
Next, our chiropractic doctor will conduct an initial consultation of how you are currently feeling, what symptoms you may be experiencing, and answer any questions you may have about our care. In some cases, we may want you to provide us any details from your accident that you can.
Our doctor will then examine you to see if your particular injury will respond well to our treatment. This exam may test your range of motion, muscle strength, and neurological integrity. It’s possible that X-rays, MRIs, or other laboratory tests will be necessary. If you’ve already had tests done, you will want to bring the results with you for our doctor to examine. We take all the information and work up a custom plan based on your recovery needs.
After the consult and exam, we will schedule a Report of Findings meeting to discuss the results with you. In the meeting the doctor will go over your X-rays (if necessary) custom treatment plan, and his requirements and recommendations in order for you to achieve your recovery goals.
At this point, if you decide that we are a good fit for your recovery, we will then schedule you for your recommended treatment plan and you can get started as soon as you want. Approximately, every 30 days a re-exam is performed to determine your progress and future care requirements. We try to be as transparent as possible through your entire healing process to make your experience with us positive and successful.
What if I Have Already Seen a Doctor?
It’s not out of the ordinary that patients we see come to us from other chiropractors, medical doctors or physical therapists. In this case, if you come in from another doctor or clinic, we require that you sign a release form so we can get your prior records faxed over to us for further understanding of your injury.
