What’s often overlooked in most physical therapy and injury rehab clinics is the addition of strength training. Many clinics offer isolated movements focused solely on one particular muscle group related to the injury, but not many emphasize on compound movement, or functional training to help with strengthening the supporting muscle groups that are connected to the overall body.
It’s a fact that as we age, our body loses strength. The loss of overall strength is what can contribute to getting injured in the first place. Being able to do simple things in life, like picking up our kids, working in the yard or carrying groceries can quickly become a painful endeavor. Even a small tightening of the back, or tendinitis can easily become a chronic issue if left untreated.
Chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy and Active Release Technique® are all great ways to optimize your health by providing better mobility and better living in your body. These treatments give many of our patients the relief they need from symptomatic and chronic pain symptoms by addressing the root cause of the pain. However, it is also important to strengthen the muscles and tissues around the injured area to help provide additional support in the healing process and to help avoid future re-injury of the affected area. This is why, as part of our mission to excel in health optimization and injury prevention, we offer a one-on-one strength clinic in addition to our membership wellness services.
One-On-One Strength Training Clinic
Our One-on-One Strength Clinic is our program designed to focus around multiple muscle groups, such as the supporting muscles of the frame. This clinic goes beyond just surface physicality and dives into functional strength training for everyday activities. With an emphasis on compound movements and groups of muscles, it’s training for overall life performance. Our program emphasizes on multiple muscle groups to work together by performing daily tasks that are common simulated movements people might do at home, at work or in sports. Various muscle groups in the upper and lower body are targeted at the same time while emphasizing on core stability.
